For the week of January 29, 2012:

Catholic Perspective and Catholic Weekly will feature the homily by

Bishop Michael F. Burbidge from the North Carolina Mass for Life celebrated at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on January 23. The annual Mass is held in conjunction with the March for Life in Washington, DC to mark the anniversary of the controversial Supreme Court Roe v. Wade Decision. The program will also feature highlights from the Diocesan “Love My Life” Youth Rally, held in Raleigh on January 14. 

 

Catholic Perspective is available on a number of Time-Warner Cable systems.  In Raleigh, the program is broadcast on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. on Cable Channel 22; in Durham on Saturdays at 7:00 p.m.on Cable Channel 8; in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Hillsborough on Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. on Cable Channel 8; and in Greenville on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. on Cable Channel 69.

 

The program is also broadcast on the Time-Warner Find It on Demand Channel 1083 in Craven, New Hanover, Brunswick, Onslow and Pender Counties, allowing viewers to watch at any time during the week. For those who do not subscribe to Time-Warner in the listed viewing areas, the program is available each week on the Diocesan website. A bulletin item noting the subject of the upcoming program will be included each Monday in the Centralized Mail posting.

 

Catholic Weekly is currently broadcast on WDNC 620-AM in the Triangle, Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. and on WBPL 92.7 FM in Wilmington at 3:30 p.m. Sundays. The Diocese will be looking for opportunities to place the program in other areas of the Diocese in the coming weeks. As with the TV program, Catholic Weekly is available each week on the Diocesan website and available via podcast.

 

La Voz Catolica, the Diocesan radio program, airs each week on La Ley 96.9 FM in central North Carolina each Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. and on WNCA 1570 AM in Siler City each Saturday at 5:00 p.m. It is now also available now on podcast and iTunes, as are Catholic Perspective and Catholic Weekly.

 

For the week of February 5, 2012:

Catholic Perspective and Catholic Weekly will feature an interview with Dr. Jacques Mistrot on a new document published by the Diocese of Raleigh on Church teaching regarding end-of-life issues. Dr. Mistrot is a member of the Diocesan Pro-Life Steering Committee, which helped formulate the document titled “Care and Compassion: A Catholic Declaration on Life and Death,”
