To provide gently used clothing and household items in good condition for the needy in our community and surrounding counties. (For food donations, contact InterFaith Council at 919-929-6380. For furniture donations, contact the Furniture Project at 919.578.2989.)
The Caring and Sharing Center provides a variety of clothing and household items free of charge to over 400 individuals or families every month. Please bring donations only when the Center is open.
Volunteers work in teams of two for two-hour shifts helping people to find clothing and household goods that meet their needs. Some volunteers also come during hours that the Center is closed to sort donations and put them out for display.
Volunteers are needed to help during the times the center is open. Individuals sign up for whatever best suits their needs. Scheduling is flexible and can be weekly, monthly or as available. A few times each year we have large-group volunteer meetings that are optional but attendance is highly encouraged.
