The Dearly Departed

“Into your hands, Father of mercies, we commend our brothers and sisters in the sure and certain hope that, together with all who have died in Christ, they will rise with him on the last day” (Order of Christian Funerals 175). We remember especially the following daughters and sons of Christ who have died recently:

The Sick

Let us appeal to God for our brothers and sisters: Come and strengthen them, free them from all harm, sin, and temptation, and relieve the sufferings of all the sick (Pastoral Care of the Sick 121). We pray especially for these members of our St. Thomas More community whom we commend to the healing power of Christ:

Konsoo Lee, John Lawson, Dorothy James, Aline Lanque, Deborah Valdez, Dominic Corwin, Christine Beeston, Jenny Leech, Scott Gow, Don McGee, Donald Clifford, Ernest Merklin, Michelle Mayer, Helga Biste, John Turppa, Ken Grabarczyk, Tracy Saunders, Patricia Brown, John McCauley, Marilyn Jewell, Stefanie Riggs, Paul Bless, Bob Brashear, Ginger Bender and all those in need of prayer.

Specific Intentions

As baptized Christians it is not only our right but also our duty to pray for the Church, the needs of the world and the salvation of all, and especially for those burdened by any kind of difficulty. Confident that God hears us and will give us what we need, we pray especially for:

  • the homeless, the refugee, and the immigrant
  • those who labor without just wages
  • those suffering from having had an abortion
