Altar Servers
The role of the Altar Server is to assist the presider during Liturgical celebrations. Volunteers supervise existing Altar Servers and train new servers (4th grade and up) for Masses and ceremonies. Call Margarita Sanchez at 919-619-6616.

Baptism Preparation
Help parents and godparents prepare for responsibilities and liturgy of this first Sacrament. Volunteers present Church teachings and responsibilities as well as logistics of the baptismal liturgy. Meetings are held the first Friday of every month. Call or email Gulnara Trauco at 919-370-7831.

Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)
Children ages 4-8 years gather during the homily at Sunday Mass to hear and reflect on the Word of God, and to pray according to their age of faith development. Call or email Sara Vidal at 919-923-5000.

Equipo Pastoral
A vehicle of evangelization by which our Latino population can express itself, live, and grow in its faith in its own language. Eucharistic Ministers
Members assist the presider in distributing the Eucharist at all Masses. Some also minister to the sick and homebound. Ongoing training is offered. Call or email Humberto Torres at 919-761-6383.

Funeral Committee
Members provide receptions for families who have funeral Masses or ceremonies at STM. Volunteers plan, prepare food, set up, serve and clean up after receptions. Ministry leader position is available. Call or email Xiomara Boyce at 919-942-6239.

Hospital Visitation
Members visit and bring the Eucharist to Catholics who are in UNC and Duke Hospitals and wish to receive Holy Communion. Call Ismael Galvan at 919-923-5217.

Hospitality and Welcome

Lectors

Marriage Preparation
An annual event providing free health screening and information, targeting the area’s Spanish speaking population. This is a married couple ministry that serves to support engaged couples preparing for the Sacrament of Matrimony. During the six months of preparation, the married couples help engaged couples complete forms required by the Diocese, share their experience of their sacramental married life with the engaged couple, and spend several evenings helping interpret the FOCCUS tool engaged couples take to prepare for their upcoming wedding and lifetime together. RCIA (Initiation Ministry)
The catechumenate provides pastoral formation and guidance aimed at training in the Christian life those adults who are seeking baptism in the Catholic Church.
