Altar Care Ministry

Altar Servers
The role of the altar server is to assist the presider during liturgical celebrations. Volunteers monitor existing and train new altar servers (4th grade and up) for Masses and ceremonies. Call or email Jim Bauer, 593-8032.

Environment & Art Committee (and Flower & Plant Subcommittee)
Enhances the worship space of STM through the use of art. Volunteers decorate for the liturgical seasons, and provide and plan for the environment and art of the church. Call or email Barbara Wasik at 942-3946. Members of the Plant and Flower Subcommittee decorate the church with flowers and plants and attend to all aspects of their care within the worship space at St. Thomas More. Eucharistic Ministers
Members assist the presider in distributing the Eucharist at all Masses. Some also minister to the sick and homebound. Ongoing training is offered. Call or email Jane or Jerry Kyle at 942-6578.

Hospitality Ministers
Members greet and welcome parishioners and visitors at weekend Masses, provide seating assistance, and distribute bulletins. Contact Jane or Jerry Kyle at 942-6578.

Lectors
Proclaim God’s word in readings at weekend and Holy Day Masses. Training for all lectors done annually and individually as needed. Call or email Mike Komives at 942-8520.

Liturgy Committee
Liturgy Committee meetings are open to anyone who would like to help shape and plan liturgical celebrations at St. Thomas More. The Committee is also comprised of the Pastoral Council Liturgy Portfolio Head, the Director of Liturgy, the heads of our liturgical ministries, and the Sacristans. Meetings are generally on the third Thursday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Santa Cruz Room. If you have an issue you would like addressed but cannot attend meetings, or if you would like to be involved, please contact Andrew Casad at 942-6235.

Mass Coordinators
