"Love Lived on Death Row" Documentary Screening - The St. Andrew and St. Michaels Social Concerns committees are sponsoring a screening of the documentary - Love Lived on Death Row, a film by Linda Booker. The screening will be held on September 18 at 7 PM at the Halle Cultural Arts Center in downtown Apex. A Question and Answer featuring the filmmaker, Linda Booker, will immediately follow the screening. There is a suggested donation of $5. Students are free.
Love Lived on Death Row is the remarkable story of the Syriani siblings' journey from hate and anger to love and forgiveness for their father, who murdered their mother in 1990. After fourteen years of estrangement, their reconciliation led them to healing and a public campaign to save him from execution on North Carolina's Death Row.
Bishop's Lecture Series: "The Catholic Conscience and Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship", on Friday September 19, 7:00-9:30 PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 2718 Overbrook Drive, Raleigh NC 27608. Lecture by Dr. John Haas, President, National Catholic Bioethics Center. This is the first of three lectures in the series.
