Mary Ellen McGuire, Pastoral Associate
Mary Ellen McGuire has been a Pastoral Associate at St. Thomas More since July 2008. Her main responsibilities are to provide pastoral care and assistance to the sick, bereaved, elderly and needy poor in our midst. Mary Ellen has a B.A. in Economics from Amherst College in Massachusetts and a Master of Divinity from Boston College School of Theology and Ministry. She volunteered as a hospital chaplain for several years and also worked as a college campus minister for 5 years in New England before moving to NC. Her husband John is a cabinet maker, and they have two young sons named Hugh and Tom. Mary Ellen’s interests include reading, baking and cooking, socially responsible investing, Ignatian spirituality, quilting and the great outdoors!
