Staff - Mark Prokop, Nursery
Mark Prokop started helping in the St. Thomas More Nursery in October 2006. He also assists with the Pre-K Faith Development (Sunday School), is a 1st Degree Knight (in the Knights of Columbus - Council 10910), is a member of the Respect Life Committee, and a Eucharistic Minister to the Sick, taking communion to sick Catholic patients at UNC Hospitals. Mark is originally from Darnestown, Maryland and has lived in Chapel Hill for 18 years. He received a B.S. in Accounting from Frostburg State College (Frostburg, MD) and received a Graduate Certificate in Management Information Systems from Bowie State University (Bowie, MD). He worked as an accountant for 14 years before transitioning to the non-profit world for the past 11 years. Mark is currently the Executive Director of Food-Aid International (www.food-aid.org). Mark has been married to his wife Betty since May 1997 and they have two sons, Matthew and Luke.
