Staff - Marianne Kremer, Director St. Cecilia Choir
Marianne has played the organ and accompanied choirs at STM since 1978. She grew up in Missouri, and studied music in St. Louis and then at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY where she received a Master's Degree in Piano. In Fountainebleau, France, Marianne worked with Nadia Boulanger and performed in the master classes of Arthur Rubenstein and Robert Casadesus.
Marianne and her husband Rudi moved to Chapel Hill from Ithaca, NY where Rudi was the university organist at Cornell University, and Marianne taught piano and performed chamber music and opera workshops. They have four sons, all musicians, two of whom are professional musicians, and all alumni of St. Thomas More School.
While in Chapel Hill, Marianne was also the pianist and concert performer with the Chapel Hill Community Chorus for 18 years. She still accompanies the elementary choral festival for Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools.
