Paschal Triduum Video Project

Now Available!

Following the Paschal Triduum 2010 Father John Durbin, STL casually mentioned that since the following year would be his last as pastor of Saint Thomas More celebrating these three days of the Lord's passion, death, and resurrection that he would like to have a video record of such. Andrew Casad, MTS, MA, Director of Liturgy and Catechumenate, then began planning for a two-hour video documentary of the Paschal Triduum as a tribute to our pastor, to show other parishes in our diocese and beyond what is possible in the celebration of this center of the church's life (Paschale Solemnitatis), and as a beautiful way for the faithful to experience once again the love, passion, and joy of the Paschal Triduum.

Undaunted by the initial estimates given by several local film producers, Andrew was able, through the assistance of Richard Honey, who had previously produced for The Peoples Channel, to begin building a team that included both Kelly Browne, a member of the parish Communications Committee, and Lawrence Le, a media studies major at UNC to be trained by The Peoples Channel and produce this video documentary. Along the way this Paschal Triduum Video team not only prepared for capturing the liturgies and producing the finished documentary but also produced several half-hour documentaries about Lent and tracing the journey of the elect toward the waters of baptism which were cablecast on The Peoples Channel. Now the video team is able to present to the community the final production version of the Paschal Triduum 2011.
