Willing to honor Christ with our lives In touch with our faith and Catholic teachings Ready to love others Eager to serve God Determined to stand up for what is right
So what is WIRED?
WIRED is part of the TYM program at St. Thomas More. WIRED is for 11th and 12th graders in our parish. Most of the youth in the WIRED group have been confirmed, but the group is open to any 11th and 12th graders. The aim of WIRED is to help students stay involved in their faith after Confirmation, as well as to provide a supportive community to students who have not been confirmed.
The WIRED group is typically in a different format than the other TYM sessions. It is more intimate and discussion-based. The group is about becoming close with some fellow travelers with whom you can share your faith, have lots of fun and experience God. Having faith means having true friends, friends who will stick by you and be God's presence for you, as you navigate through the rough waters of life. WIRED is an oasis for those who are thirsting for God and we want to invite you to come and quench your thirst!
Many 11th and 12th graders in our parish participate in the STM WIRED Youth Group. We focus on topics of interest to the young adults in our group to support them in their faith journeys. This year our meetings will include the following subject matter:
Keeping our Catholic faith
How to remain Catholic in college
Individualism, hedonism and minimalism
Faith and science
Saints
Theology of the Body for Teens
Advent and Preparing for Chrismas
Adopt-A-Family Chritsmas gift program
Abortion and the sanctity of life
Atheism
Pornography
We meet at the STM Youth House in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere and always have plenty of snacks, except during the season of Lent. This fabulous youth group allows our young adults to further explore their faith through discussions, activities, prayer, evangelization, friendships, spirituality and fun!
